Watch the premiere of a local food documentary, engage in a dynamic experience about what it takes to put food on the table, and learn about opportunities to take action in Reno County.

Thank you to community members for taking the community perception survey each year since 2016. The invaluable feedback we received has guided Heal Reno County through the years of the Pathways to a Healthy Kansas project, an initiative of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas. As we reflect on our work, we are especially proud of the following accomplishments:

The Connected Community, Healthy Community Speaker & Discussion Series from Heal Reno County features three speakers addressing community health, from the social determinants of health to life expectancy to community engagement. The events are free and open to the public at The Wool Market & DIY School, 420 N. Main in Hutchinson, but seating is limited. Funding for this series was made possible by the Pathways to a Healthy Kansas initiative from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS).

Heal's Working@Wellness Reno County work group promotes wellness policies and practices in workplaces.

Heal's Healthy Kids work group is promoting active play for kids and families while also working with Reno County schools to implement policies that improve the nutrition environment and ensure opportunities for physical activity in schools.

The Healthy Foods work group encourages access to healthy foods in Reno County and the group often works alongside our county’s Food Policy Council.

Heal Reno County works to improve the overall health of the county, and each year the County Health Rankings help guide our work. Read about Reno County's results for 2017.

The Vitality Team work group is a driving force behind Heal's efforts in promoting accessibility to active lifestyles.

The Health Care Access Task Force, one of Heal’s work groups, is an example of what can happen when individuals and organizations work collaboratively, sharing the overall goal of improving community health.

When Heal Reno County kicked off its Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas Pathways to a Healthy Kansas grant in early November of 2016, and only one person expressed an interest in joining the efforts of the Tobacco/Substance-Free Living Work Group. A lot has changed since November!
